How safe is hernia mesh?

Very safe when used: Mesh should be very safe if used properly and in situations that it is called for. The concern is the immune status and infection conditions of the person in whom the mesh is inserted.

Very: The different meshes available for hernia repair are safe. What type used, synthetic or biological, depends on the type of hernia and comorbidities. You should discuss this with your surgeon.
