Hernia activity: Im not exactly sure what a press up is. However, as a general rule, activity with a hernia is limited by discomfort. As long as you do not experience pain, it should be safe to proceed with activities. A binder may help to keep a hernia reduced while exercising. But, if you are active, and the hernia protrudes frequently, it may be worth discussing this with your doctor and considering repair.
