No: You most likely are on regular metformin.  The slow release version is cheap and much much better tolerated.  If not trying to conceive, you should be on a birth control pill to control it best.   There are no herbal options that have any significant impact on the problems.

Most : Supplements are safe.  But can cause issues if not taken correctly.   I don't believe your medications have any majors risks with supplements.  But talk to your doctor to be sure.   I am not sure what supplements you are taking

Excellent diet: The South Beach Diet is an excellent diet for all patients but especially those with heart disease and/or diabetes/glucose intolerance.  Its focus is on eating a low glycemic diet, emphasizing the right carbs - not just low or reduced carbs.  Additionally healthy snacking is an essential part of the diet.  I have recommended this diet  with great success.

Diet exercise: You might get benefit from eating healthy and exercise keep you BMI 25

Talk to your doctor: This approach is controversial but may be worthwhile for some people. You will have to get the Rx from a doctor who practices anti-ageing medicine.

Neither: The better version is that which you can afford and take regularly. Once daily versions are typically more expensive but if you can't afford it, why worry? Twice daily are more troublesome but more affordable. If cost isn't an issue, get the once daily. Both will help control your sugars. Better yet, pay closer attention to your eating habits. And exercise regularly.

No interaction: No known drug-drug interaction. Otherwise side effects to each drug are to be considered as instructed by prescriber and/or pharmacist.

i have pco.i weigh 72kg n my height is 5ft4inches.what is the correct dose of metformin for me as i m unable to tolerate my prescribed dose?

Best dose 2000 mg: Most effective dose is 1000 mg twice a day with meals. Start low and go up in 500 mg steps. If you can't tolerate it, there is extended release metformin which is easier on your intestines. A brand name product called Glumetza can be tolerated by almost everyone, but is more expensive since it's not generic.

i have had creatinine levels of 108 which dropped to 99 dr said it was fine but on metformin and understand that thi s is a contributory reason ?

Your doctor is right: You did not specify the units of creatiniine, if i understand the results, your levels are within normal limits and you can take metformin. You are right to be concerned, but your creatinine is okay for this medication.

i am diabetic & my sugar has been extremely high(in the 300's). im on metformin 2x/day but its not helping. i feel awful all the time. idk what to do?

Diabetes: Are you following a good program.  Is weight a problem.  Are you following a diabetic diet carefully?  Do you exercise daily?  If you are overweight you need to lose weight now.  If you need more help then you should ask for consultation with a diabetic specialist.
