A member asked:

I have pco.i weigh 72kg n my height is 5ft4inches.what is the correct dose of metformin for me as i m unable to tolerate my prescribed dose?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Best dose 2000 mg: Most effective dose is 1000 mg twice a day with meals. Start low and go up in 500 mg steps. If you can't tolerate it, there is extended release metformin which is easier on your intestines. A brand name product called Glumetza can be tolerated by almost everyone, but is more expensive since it's not generic.
