Neither: I recommend wild alaskan salmon filets, burgers, canned, and sliced any day over any pill. I also recommend wild cod, halibut, and occasional herring, sardines, and anchovies (high in purines), tuna (high in mercury) as substitutes. No reason to take pills unless you really dislike fish.

Fish Oil: Fish oil does not need to be converted in the body to obtain the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids but flax seed does so fish oil would be the better supplement. My best.

Yes: Some people do use flax seeds over fish oil.  Each have their value and some actually use all products synergistically.

Not at all: This is totally safe, a bit like having pumpkin pie after eating fish. While both fish oil and pumpkin seed oil are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids, pumpkin seed oil contains omega 6 and other fatty acids not found in fish oil, so taking them together would give you a better balance of fatty acids.

No: The oils are different. Just go easy on the fish oil. It is possible to take too much fish oil.

It's rich in omega-3 fats -- essential to our diets because our bodies cannot make them.  You can also get this in supplement form -- at least 1-2 grams of epa and 500mg dha per day if you have depression.

Fish oil excess: People with liver disease may experience problems with excessive amounts of fish oils.  Fish oil can also affect your body's ability to clot blood, so it should be discontinued before surgical procedures.

Not necessarily: Certain fish have high purine content. Fish oil doesn't. So, i believe it is more neutral.
