Not necessarily: Certain fish have high purine content. Fish oil doesn't. So, i believe it is more neutral.

Fish and gout.: Fish itself has protein which triggers gout. Fish oil does not have protein.

Fish oil and gout: This should not be a problem. Monitor how you feel very closely. You should also be sure that the quality of the fish oil is very good (ie. don't go with a generic brand).
