Concern?: Probably not.  Remember most "dental work" is surgical.  A period of healing is required.  If symptoms worsen, or do not spontaneously disappear over the next few days, call your Dentist.

Maybe: Consult first with the dr who performed the treatment to see if a referral is needed or what type of specialist you might want to see.  There are a few different possible causes for your symptoms but the dr who treated you has more information then we do at this forum to guide you.

Jaw locking: You definitely want to talk to your dentist about your jaw locking during dental treatment and other times.  They can evaluate this problem.  During dental treatment a bite block can be used to help you keep open but not hurting your jaw.

I : I would like to help you but i need more information since i cannot examine you. You said you had dental work completed. What type of dental work? Fillings? Crowns? Bridges? Dentures?

The antibiotic should be given to you if a specific infection was diagnosed on a specific tooth. I am concerned about the pain in your temporomandibular joint, which could be an indication that your bite is off.

Needs to be seen: One possible scenario is that due to a bite discrepancy from your recent dental work your teeth are sore and sensitive. However, it could be totally unrelated to your recent treatment. You will need to be seen by your dentist in order to diagnose the cause of your discomfort.

Yes, but: If you have a completely stuffed nose or are constantly coughing, it could make any dental procedure more difficult and take greater time due to the need to stop to allow you to breathe comfortably or stop coughing (quick movements could prove dangerous with a dental drill in your mouth!).  But think of the dentist and personnel, why expose them to your cold germs?

Cold sore: Yes, patients with a history of cold sores often do not tolerate manipulation of oral soft tissues, particularly the lips, cheeks, and tongue without developing these annoying ulcers. Treat them symptomatically as most don't respond well to topical salves or ointments because the medication is quickly removed by saliva. With extensive ulcerations, see your dentist or physician for a complete eval.

Sensitive teeth: It can be many things, without seeing an x-ray and your teeth its hard to say, but... You may have recession which exposes root surface and dentin, the dental work may have openings, the bite may be off causing trauma, etc... All can cause sensitivity.

Is it generalized: You have mentioned sensitivity to hot and cold . Is it generalized or localized? Like is it only one tooth or all around .? The approach to the problem will definitely be different .. If it is generalized it could be due to bruxism/clinching.Having in mind that one if the side effects of xarleto is muscle spasms .!but if it is only one tooth it will be different approach . Please get a checkup.
