i am 83 and have significant hearing loss over the past 10 years.  recently i have begun to hear swishing noises in my head when i am trying to sleep.

Pulsatile tinnitus: I recommend you see your ENT or otologist. You may need an updated hearing evaluation and presuming you do not have uncontrolled cardiac or vascular issues, possibly a radiographic study to evaluate the relationship of blood vessels to your hearing system.

was trying to sleep and heard buzzing right in my ear. swatted at it, now im wondering theres a gnat or something in my ear. i dont hear anything, is it worth worrying about?

: If your ear feels normal dont worry. If you do place some Hydrogen peroxide in your ear then lower it it will wash your ear.

l ear twitch/vibration eardrum can feel n hear it but not painful, very annoying on n off for few months worse when trying to sleep.  what could it b?

Perhaps fluid: You could have some fluid behind the ear drum that can do this.  Or it could be a spasm of a small muscle in there.  Get your doctor to look in your ear.

the back of my head has been making a popping/cracking noise. (right above where neck and head meet) it will even do it when i'm not moving. first noticed it when i trying to sleep but now i hear it a lot. also have ringing in ears. thoughts?

: While crackling noises from ligaments in the neck are common, they are puzzling if you hear them in the scalp or skull especially when you are not moving your head. Tinnitus is rather common. For full evaluation of these symptoms I would consult both an otolaryngologist and neurologist.

last 3 days, pain in my chest when breathing, when i sleep/lay down i feel and hear a gurgling sound that sounds like its coming from upper chest and throat. cough during day but worse at night. what could it be? & medicine to help?

No: Comfort is the main focus. You want to be in a position where your muscles and mind can relax to help you fall off to sleep. Some medical problems or conditions can benefit from sleeping in a certain position, but if you're healthy then just make yourself cozy and comfortable!

how long should i lay in bed if i'm trying to sleep?

45 minutes: If you are not falling asleep after 30 to 45 minutes.  Try reading a calming inspirational book.  Or better yet keep a journal next to your bed and write all your thoughts in it, completely unfiltered.  Limit liquids especially anything with caffeine after 6 pm.  Are you eating well and exercising regularly. If not start.   Lastly consider taking up  meditation.  It really works.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help: Try using Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night. One tablet 20 to 30 minutes before sleep can produce mild sedation that last for 4 to 6 hours. This can help with sleep. In addition, make sure you are trying to change your sleep habits.

can i tell me how i can stop overthinking about something (especially when trying to sleep)?

Some helpful: Techniques include progressive muscle relaxation before bed or deep breathing exercises. Ensure that you schedule another time to write down problems ; solutions. In other words set a boundary for yourself - that you will not fret about issues before bed. Buspar (buspirone) can be excellent for helping with bedtime ruminations. Take care.

my teen starts in her bed and said as she is trying to sleep something is scaring her but she does not no what so she comes to my bed help
for 1 week?

Have her talk to doc: She may have some underlying insecurities, stress and anxiety.  This is often a manifestation of that. Have her talk to your doctor first and after a good interview may consider a psychologist to open up more. I have very little information, hence this general answer.
