See below: Don't have any in your house. If you do, they should be locked in a safe, and the ammunition locked in a separate safe. Also, assure where ever your child goes, ask if there are guns.

In a best-case scenarios, multiple people should throw anything they can at the shooter while rushing up to tackle him. That way, you may increase the chances of survival for some.

My answer?: I really like being a man, and in the grand scheme of things, we men exist to protect the women we love. Guns are the great equalizer that ended the rule of brute physical strength, & enable home protection; their invention made governments much more decent. Hence many of us are wired to love them. Male-bashers disagree, but overall i feel safer with my neighbors armed.
