i can't fully open my mouth because i had an injury to my jaw. i fell on it chin first . it's not broken or fractured . i am seeing a physical therapist to get more mobility of my mouth. will it ever go back to normal?

: You likely have injured your temporal-mandibular joints and hopefully, there is merely bruising within the joint.  This might improve over a few weeks.  But if recalcitrant to physical therapy, would next obtain a consultation from dentistry, preferably, the expertise of an Oral Surgeon.

my molar didnt get a temporary crown after a root canal. i was told to chew on the side with the new root canal due to an apicoectomy on the other side of my mouth. i wasnt told to avoid hard food. so i chewed broccoli. is my molar fractured now?

: Probably not. The tooth in question is out of occlusion so it's hard to put excessive force on it. Unless it hurts when biting down, don't worry.

can jaw bone fractures heal by themselves without surgery? i feel like i can eat like normal but my mouth and teeth do seem misaligned. what is the typical procedure? one side of chin feels like it moves and other doesnt. can it stay like that?

Bone Fractures: Not all bone fractures require surgical treatment. Why would you think your jaw was fractured? Was it traumatized\? Misalignment of teeth, if that way for many years, does not indicate a fracture. With more specific information you will get a better answer.

The open mouth view-: -is 2 visualize the C1-C2 articulation. Overlying bony structures means either U did not open wide or the technician did not aim the column properly. If there was a concern, it would have been repeated. Otherwise it's normal.

Cervical: Sounds like an entirely normal X-ray. All cervical spines straighten out in cray or MRI done supine. Alternatively could be indication of some cervical muscle spasm causing splinting and thus straightening of the spine.

why is it that tmj on left side of jaw always rubs against cheek tissue and left side does not when i open mouth? this is after assault on chin. no fractures but tmj feels cracked. maxillofacial doctor sends me home and pt and night guard is done?

: Suggest you seek clarification from an oral surgeon who could provide a second opinion.  This could also provide perspective on the current recommendations.

i had xrays and ct scan and doctors/denti insist no fracture.there is some serious asymmetry, my mouth opens considerably wider on left side. this is visible in slanted chin and also on the various teeth visible on both sides.what could cause this?

TMJ: The tempo mandibular joint allows the jaw to open and close. If asymmetric, see a dentist to help,correct. There is a disc in the joint complex which could be dislodged by trauma (no fracture). MRI of the disc can show if this is the problem. Good luck

No reason to be..: See a local dentist for evaluation and treatment. Modern dentistry is painless. The tooth will not repair itself on its own.
