i have been taking treatment for dvt more than 10 years. acitrom& preem16 are the drugs taking regularly.will it affect my sex life?can i gve birth?

No, yes: Acitrom is an anticoagulant similar to warfarin. You are taking because you had a blood clot at a very early age. It is unusual to have a DVT at 17 and it could be related to a genetic reason that you clot more than other people. Only you and your doctor know if you have a clotting problem that needs lifelong anticoagulation, it is possible.  You might stop the drug prior to delivery if pregnant.

i take vitamin d 50,000 weakly with food,is there something that affects the absorption of vitamin d i have to avoid it during treatment period?

50,000: Very high doses of vitamin D are used weekly for four weeks followed up by 1000 to 5000 units daily for a few more weeks. 
More importantly, it is uncommon for a woman your age to  need so much vitamin D. Has your doctor told you why you need so much vitamin D? I would like to learn his/her answers.

Acitrom: Acitrom (Acenocoumarol) is a vitamin K antagonist anticoagulant. The directions I read – indicated that it should be taken at the same time each day but did not specify what time of day it should be.

Anticoagulation: Your INR appears subtherapeutic and you will need an adjustment in your anti vitamin K meds. Please call your prescriber and ask about recommendations regarding your doses.

Similar but not same: Both Acitrom and Warfarin act in the same way,  by blocking the effect of Vitamin K so you make less clotting factors.  The main difference is how long the medication says in your body after taking a dose.  Warfarin stays about 3 times longer. With both medications you need to check your blood test (INR or prothrombin time) regularly to make sure you are taking the right dose.

have been taking acitrom 3 from past 7 years, but i keep taking break in my regular consumptions which extends from days to few weeks and then i resume back to the consumption. haven't had any incident since 2015. please suggest?

: We do not have acitrom 3 in the US but we use warfarin with the same indication as acitrom 3. If you have used it for 7 years without any complication then you should be fine. However, you are at risk of clotting complication when you stop it for weeks, especially if you take it for prosthetic heart valve or recurrent pulmonary embolism and you should not just take a break with this medication.

?: Acitrom is an anticoagulant available in india - not in the usa. Are you sure you're really in louisville, ky? By mitral r - do you mean mitral regurgitation?   If so, mr can lead to atrial fibrillation which is an indication for anticoagulation, but, if you have severe mr, the preferred treatment is mitral valve repair since, over time, severe mr will ruin your heart unless fixed.

sir my brother is taking acitrom for last 15 yrs . right from age of 8 till now ie 24 he has been taking . he is at the dose of 4 and 5mg alternatively. 
can we reduce his dose a bit by bit everyday ?

: No.  Acitrom is a blood thinner.  We don't know why he is on it, but it is clear that stopping it should only be done under the supervison of a doctor.  Have your brother see his doctor and discuss his treatment plan now and for the future. Ask him if you can go with him to see his doctor so you can be present and be sure you both get enough information to understan his condition.

Coumarin derivative: Acitrom is a coumarin derivative similar to coumadin (warfarin).  It is not available in the United States. It is a blood thinner intended to treat or prevent blood clot formation. Use of this medication in patients with cirrhosis can be life threatening & should be closely monitored by a physician. A therapeutic inr is between 2-3 or higher depending on the condition it is being used for. Consult your dr.
