Back pain: This is your back telling you that roller coasters are bad for you. Seems like your brain has forgotten and has made your back take over the decision. See if back exercises and staying away from roller coasters works, if not, there might be a medical or a mechanical problem with your back. Ask your doctor or go on line to get williams esercises. But if you are over 50, get an examination.

Depends: If you mean a chair on wheels, no. Chairs do vary in how comfortable they are, so pick one that is correct in height for you, gives good support, and is comfortable. If you mean chairs that use roller to massage your back, the answer is probably not, unless your tissues are very sensitive to pressure, you have had recent trauma to the area, or a lot of force is used. Try before you buy.

Back pain mattress:  Go to a store a try a few out as each back is different, as is each mattress. In general I prefer coils but you shouldn't feel the coils. Many recommend firm or medium firm. F/u/ with orthopedist/ spine specialist..

have been exercising 2 mi run / 18 mi bike and making sure i stretch and foam roll. i woke with ache  lower back.  how should i treat? can iexercise?

Back Pain: Have an exam to determine the cause. If it is a strain, a short course of anti inflammatory meds and moist heat may help. Inactivity is no longer recommended so if it is benign continue your activities as much as tolerated. All the best.

why do memory foam beds create added pain to necks, lower back problems or mild lumbar scoliosis?

Sleep on Side: Hard to say why.  Beds are so specific for each person, I would suggest trying another bed if possible.  Alternatively, side sleeping puts the least pressure on the spine, especially with pillows between legs.  If this is still uncomfortable consider sleeping in your back with 2-3 pillows under your legs to raise them, so back stays flat on the bed.

See doctor : Most likely musculoligamentouss and a good back excercise/stretching program will help,but you should see an orthopedist to  be examined and get at least  x-rays to rule out other causes

See your doctor: There are many causes of back pain.  The first step is to get a diagnosis.  There are some arthritis diseases that affect the back as well as other types of inherited or squired changes which can be treated.   If you have the most common cause of back pain for your age the main treatment is a regular stretching exercise program.   The only way to know the best treatment is to first know the cause.

There : There are many causes of back pain.  You probably pulled a muscle or aggravated/injured disk or joint in the back.   Most cases of back pain improve over one month.  You may benefit from few days of rest, anti-inflammatories (please contact primary care for assessment and prescription) follow by physical therapy.  If you do not improve you should see spine specialist to further investigate and treat your back pain.  Good luck!

i get knee pain from running. i used a foam roller and ran a half marathon last year. but the pain has come back, what should i do?

Ice/Motrin: Rest.  Consider water exercises in a pool.

Always stretch before and after running.  Consider taking Motrin with food/h2o two hours before a run.

Ever think about bicycling or walking as an alternative?

for running , my back gets a little cramp like and sore & using leg press for squats. is a foam roller good for stretching the back?  any safe tips?

Back program: Always good to maintain strength and flexibility in your back.  See a PT who can teach you a good ongoing stretching and strengthening program. Foam rollers are good but this only represents a small part of a back rehab program.
