Non healing sore: A lip cancer will often present as a non healing sore.  This can be anywhere on the lips, and is related to smoking, especially cigars and pipes but also cigarettes.  We are seeing a rise in incidence in young people who "dip snuff" or use chewing tobacco.  Here's a picture of a neglected lip cancer.

Squamous Ca: Most cancers of the lip are squamous cancers.  Depending on the size and site, that is upper or lower lip and proximity to the commissures, wide resection and reconstruction is performed.  If very large the lesion should be reduced in size by RT (gamma) or single infusion of high dose MTX with citrovorum factor. One must also be sure that upper cervical nodes not involved.

Not Likely: See your dentist for an exam & diagnosis. Most likely it is herpes on the lip, or possibly candida yeast infection. Cancer is possible but unlikely. You need to see a doctor for a diagnosis.

Unlikely: Chronic irritation can, over time, causr cells to mutate. But it is far more common to develop a fibroma (benign lump) at the site of the biting habit than anything else. The dentist can actually fabricate an appliance you could wear temporarily to help you break the habit/.

Theoretically : Yes. But highly unlikely. Smoking and sun is a much bigger risk factor.

No.: Biting doesn't cause lip cancer.  Causes are smoking and drinking mainly, or infection with hpv, a virus, but age of onset is considerably older than you.  But of course if you a wound that will not heal, get it checked out by a professional.

Yes, definitely: Yes, most definitely. The lower lip is one of the most common places in the oral cavity to get oral cancer. It is possible to get cancer anywhere in the oral cavity from smoking. The lower lip also gets a lot of sun exposure, which makes it especially susceptible. Smoking along with drinking alcohol makes things even worse. Best answer is to stop smoking.

Oral cancer and HPV: There has been a rise in the incidence of oral cancers that ar related to HPV (virus) infection. This can occur even in cases where there is no tobacco use.
