Squamous Ca: Most cancers of the lip are squamous cancers. Depending on the size and site, that is upper or lower lip and proximity to the commissures, wide resection and reconstruction is performed. If very large the lesion should be reduced in size by RT (gamma) or single infusion of high dose MTX with citrovorum factor. One must also be sure that upper cervical nodes not involved.
