Don't worry: If you have no rash, hair loss, ulcers, or arthritis, fibromyalgia may be the correct diagnosis. My motto is "treat the patient, not the labs"!

Yes you can: Work. Staying active will help you physically and psychologically. Keeping your mind in a task will improve your well being. Exercise program very important too. See your physician and have a talk about possibilities.

Separate these Dx: Fibromyalgia is widespread pain, non-restful sleep, and severe fatigue. This is unrelated to osteopenia (painless) which is a deficiency in bone mineralization. Neither of these diagnoses (Dx) are autoimmune conditions. The ANA is a test used to confirm certain autoimmune conditions such as scleroderma and lupus. However, caution here, THE ANA ALONE CANNOT DIAGNOSE ANY CONDITION.

how can i differentiate symptoms to know if it is fibromyalgia, lupus, or crohns? i have a butterfly rash and positive ana, lots of ibs symptoms, pain

Diagnosis?: With your considerations, specialist consultation (Rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, infectious disease) and relevant testing should help elucidate a specific cause, or causes.

NO: The ANA is there because of some other reason. Because it's there does not  mean you have lupus. There are many other reasons to have a positive ana. Your evaluation by your physician can clarify.

No and no: I have never heard of lithotripsy causing addison's disease. It is not something that would show up on a cat scan. The most common cause for addison's disease is autoimmune, so having a positive ANA may put you at a slightly higher risk, but addison's is very rare, and needs to be diagnosed by an endocrinologist, with laboratory testing.

Autoimmunity?: Positive ANA indicates that  there are presence antibodies against components of nucleus of your own cells. Our body is not supposed to make antibodies against our cells. Something happens, which leads antibodies being produced against cells of different organs such as thyroid glands and pancreas. Leukocytosis is the state of increased white cell count indicating some inflammation.

can a positive ana test occur because of gout?

No.: Gout is a metabolic disorder, while ANA + is indicative of an autoimmune issue, which may or not be relevant to your health.  If you have ANA positivity with gout, there is an unrelated issue!  again, gout is a metabolic form of arthritis.  If you have a positive ana, it is unrelated and someone in rheumatology or an astute pcp can determine if it is important!
