good morning, i have seen my physician and im currently in pt for shoulder, throat, neck, head stiffness & tension, w/irritation in facial/eye/ear area. upon waking its hard to open eyes and it takes a few. do you agree it is tension? thank u

: Tension is an unlikely cause for difficulty opening one's eyes upon waking. If you have difficulty opening your eyes throughout the day, it could be a neuromuscular issue, but difficulty upon awakening is most frequently a dry eye problem (especially if the eyes are crusted or sticky). Try artificial tears before going to sleep and gentle washing of lids with warm water.

dad is 64 yrs old,he has frequent pain which starts from left arm till neck then grows till head and forehead with eyes burning irritation.mri is clean,visited many neuro surgeons, but still pain remains.pls advice which specialised doc to consult?

Several options: Try a neuro-ophthalmologist  and also a neurologist.  Another option would be a rheumatologist.

Neck vs Head: This could be occipital neuralgia where the pain originates from the occipital nerves in the back of the head and travel over the top to right above the eye.  The other option would be that this could be coming from your neck due to the high cervical facets at c2/3 and c3/4.  The nerves exiting this area can wrap around back of head and attach to the same place as occipital nerves.

A  lentigine?: What you described seems suggestive of harmless hyperpigmented macule, called lentigine, which is commonly seen in the penis or elsewhere on the body, is entirely benign, and needs no Rx. So, just watch it for next one year to see any change in its size, color, or level; if unchanged, that it is and is innate.  Of course, if still in doubt, see Doc timely. Best wish...
