Possibly: IBS and or food intolerances can trigger enough irritation within the gut that some nutrients are not absorbed as easily. Identifying and avoiding the foods that affect you can lead to improvement in absorption over time, but this can require months and be occasionally impaired by an accidental exposure.

Yes they do: Ibs does not effect the absorption of the supplements as there is no problem with absorption and they can be given supplements to correct deficiencies if diagnosed or anticipated.Vit B12 can be given orally or pareterally if needed.

Flatulence: Foods with air pockets (such as salad, broccoli or califlower) or foods which promote the growth of air-producing bacteria (like beans) will cause flatulence.  Ibs-c can be difficult as many foods which have fiber and prevent constipation can cause trouble.  You should keep a food diary with the foods you eat and the symptoms you are having.  Stay away from foods that cause trouble for you.

i have malabsorption with some form of constipated ibs and pregnant. will baby still get nutrients if i'm not absorbing them fully.

Will get a lot: Fortunately for baby, the body extracts the nutrients from you if they are not circulating from your diet.Things like calcium and proteins are readily available to baby as extracted from your bones and muscles when your diet is poor. Find out if you are gluten intolerant or other trigger for your IBS so you can take care of you.Baby may end up skinny but shoud get his/her basic needs.

have had ibs/sibo diarrhea for over 2 months. have dark circles, am tired. i think i am malnourished. what can i do to get nutrients when i poop a lot?

The most important: electrolyte you lose with diarrhea is potassium. You could eat foods high in potassium (such as bananas), or drink electrolyte drinks like gatorade. Hope this helps!

Is it IBS?: Irritable bowel syndrome is a real nuisance, but it should  not cause weight loss unless you have relentless diarrhea. If you have not done so, you should see a gastroenterologist to make sure there is nothing else going on. For instance, celiac disease may present as ibs.

Weight loss: Sure, you could lose weight with both of these diseases.  You also state you are eating less than normal this also will cause weight loss. Do you have any worries about your body or being overweight? Please see your doctor or therapist if you have one and discuss your weight loss and any body image concerns you may have.

I also suggest seeing an acupuncturist/chinese medicine doctor as that can really help balance your body and improve your symptoms. Good luck!

pick a fiber supplement like benefiber, citrucell, fibercon, metamucil, etc and use it 2-3 times a day with plenty of water.
