ive had elevated monocytes for the last 3 months. ive went to a hematologist and she told me to not be concerned unless i experience symptoms. i wanted to ask if i should push for a bone marrow biopsy to rule out malignancy as thats my main concer?

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. 
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

All depends on severity of the suppression.

Less likely but: Similar drug chemically, and claimed to have fewer adverse reactions, but still could affect bone marrow, just less often.  Still can result in liver toxicity, low serum sodium, elevated cholesterol, and drowsiness/dizziness issues.  Remember "oxcarbazine" is a rather old drug, is generic, and likely not as well tolerated as newer anti-epileptic products.

It can be: If bone marrow is collected the standard way by retrieving it directly from a bone, it can be painful due to pressure when the needle is inserted into the bone. If the cells are collected from the blood, it can be mildly painful after you get the medication to mobilize the marrow cells from within the bone to the blood circulation. The method used depends on the situation at hand.
