i have problems knowing who to ask gi or primary. 2 chronic illnesses. lots of meds. been getting dry mouth, tingling in hands and legs,itchy at time?

Primary: Would recommend starting with your primary care physician. Make sure he is aware of all meds you take, including over the counter and supplements. It does sound as possible side effects/ drug interaction. Starting with medication review seems appropriate.

can dry mouth cause tongue and lip tingling.

Accepted Answer

Yes and no: Most people with dry mouth are actually irritating their lips and tongue without realizing it, given that the tongue has a mind of its own. Is it ok when you first wake up, ie after not working on it all night? Sometimes the cause of the dry mouth goes away, but the secondary irritation just keeps up because it is a behavioral change.

Depending on the cause of your anxiety symptoms, your health care provider can recommend appropriate treatment.

Neuropathy plus: dry mouth means diabetes until proven otherwise. Also check B12, thyroid, B6 levels. Get a neurologist involved if you have not figured things out after these initial steps.

Sounds Serious: There are lots of relatively mild diagnosis for numbness, dry mouth and weakness in your arms and legs, but on the life threatening side, you could be having a stroke, or seizure.  I would not spend time guessing, and would seek care immediately.  It would be terrible if you died at your computer wondering if i was wrong.

? nerve compression: Not sure, but you may have problems with your neck, which the MRI should show. Also, on BP meds, dry mouth, are you snoring?, have you gained wt? This is not easy to answer but certainly deserves to be evaluated with a good history and pe to start.

1st sign of guillain barre? flu shot this am. slight trouble swallowing (have had before. feels like dry mouth ).no weakness or tingling in limbs.

Probably not: The exact cause of guillain-barre syndrome is unknown, but it is often preceded by an infectious illness such as a respiratory infection or the stomach flu. Luckily, guillain-barre syndrome is uncommon, affecting only 1 or 2 people per 100, 000.  You may be dehydrated.  Make sure to be drinking plenty of fluids. To correct dry mouth, otc biotene mouthwash can be swallowed.  Use at least twice daily.

after eating, i had tingling hands, dry mouth, constant burping, farting, racing heart, felt like i was hyperventilating. what could be the cause?

Maybe the food: Possibly a food allergy or sensitivity.  Could there have been msg in the food.  Peanuts?Try eating small amounts of the food again to see if you experience the same symptoms.  Have a friend nearby to take you to a doctor/hospital.  Also have some anti-histamines available.  The safest thing to do is make a complete  list of the foods you ate and consult with your physician.
