: Sounds like Bells Palsy - this is a viral infection  that can leave your face that way permanently, but with physical and occupational therapy can improve over time. No one is certain why it occurs, but it may be caused by herpes simplex, a virus that causes cold sores, which can be treated with Acyclovir or Valcyclovir.

had ear infection last week. now get moments of droopy face, pain back of neck neck (feels like can't move head), lightheaded, migraines. any ideas?

Could be serious: You need to see an ENT or neurologist to verify that nothing serious is going on. This may represent more than an ear infection. Imaging may be necessary to help figure this out.

Accepted Answer

Wouldn't do surgery: Facial muscle exercises and manual stimulation as any other muscle in the body would be rehabilitated following a stroke. Speech therapists and more to the point, speech pathologists are well-versed in these sorts of exercises. I would never consider surgery as an option at this time even if conservative treatment doesn't give exactly the results desired.

Gastroenteritis?: First, vomiting or diarrhea in a two year old can quickly become serious. Sounds like your nephew is dehydrated. I would have him see his pediatrician tomorrow, especially if he has a fever higher than 101.

Accepted Answer

Droopy?: There could be several reasons. The most concerning would be a stroke but would be very unusual at your age. A more reasonable explanation would be a Bells palsy.  Infections, masses, and trauma may also have this effect.  You should let your doctor check you out.

Possible TIA?: Sudden weakness/paralysis of one side of the body along with speech difficulty would usually indicate a stroke if the symptoms persisted for many hours or a day. In this case the MRI should indicate brain damage(infarction).  If the neurological symptoms resolved within a day or so, and a MRI was done afterward and was normal, it would indicate a Transient Ischemic Attack. SEE www.bit.ly/1qu6w2M

my boyfriend has been having issues with the right side of his head for many years, its bigger then the other side and droopy?

This is not clear.: The person involved is hopefully normal when it comes to cognitive skills and not mentally challenged.  If this is true it is not clear as to the cause. The patient may have a congenital abnormality of some type. One type is fetal alcohol syndrome which can present with odd shaped head and facies.  If this is bothersome I would see the doctor and ask questions. May need referral to geneticist.

Possible stroke: The symptoms you describe, if they are continuous and not intermittent, sound like a mild cerebro-vascular  accident (CVA) that may have occurred during delivery.  If intermittent, you could be having transient ischemic attacks (TIAs). You need to see a neurologist for eval.

botox type injections into static frown lines caused major droopy eye lids. i suppose that ultherapy or peleve would do the same for my whole face?

Options to treat: Lid ptosis from Botox A occurs when the botox crosses the tarsal plate in the upper lid and inhibits the lid lifting muscles or because you are using your forehead muscles to lift the lids and Botox reduces the lift. Ulthera and Peleve can be used to lift lids. Topical treatments are available. I would revisit whoever did the Botox for treatment of the lid ptosis. Or get a second opinion.

tightness right side of my face. eye feels droopy but it's not visible. usually happens in the morning but goes away around noon. anxiety? stress?

Accepted Answer

Unusual symptoms: This could be stress or anxiety related as you have suggested. However, although unlikely it could be an early sign of a neurological condition such as ms or myasthenia gravis. Best to be evaluated by an ophthalmologist or neurologist to be sure.
