Get checked: Any time you have bad diarrhea after taking antibiotics, or while taking them, you should get checked for clostridium difficile infection, which requires a stool exam.  In the meantime, avoid milk products, since having diarrhea can make you temporarily lactose deficient.

Yes: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, swelling, hives, difficulty breathing, light sensitivity, blood disorders, difficulty swallowing, headache, vaginal yeast infections, loss of appetite, rectal or genital itching are all side effects of Doryx (doxycycline).

i 've been taking  metronidazol and doxycycline together  for 5 days and i have diarrhea and lost my appetite completely. .is this normal?

Yes: Either Metronidazole or Doxycycline can cause gastrointestinal side effects, including diarrhea and anorexia if taken alone; taking both together certainly increases the likelihood of getting those side effects.  Take antibiotics as directed, and follow up with your clinician if your symptoms become intolerable.

i finished a 7-day script of doxycycline for a uti 1.5 weeks ago and am still have consistent diarrhea. is it normal for a side effect to stick around for this long after finishing a round?

Probiotic: If taking a probiotic and avoiding dairy products does not provide improvement, please see your PCP. You may need to have additional testing. 
Your symptoms may also be indicative of a viral illness. Drink fluids, monitor your temperature and watch for blood or mucus.

hi, i smoke weed every day and i'm also on doxycycline hyclate for early stage lyme disease, i'm finding bright red blood diarrhea now?

Blood: Usually bright red blood results from hemorrhoidal bleeding and is less concerning than a darker, purplish jelly like blood which stems from higher up. See a doctor today. Check a CBC to evaluate for anemia. Have an exam to see if you have bleeding hemorrhoids. Stop any blood thinners like aspiring. Please get help.

i'm taking doxycycline 100mg od from 2 days for acne. today i experienced headache and diarrhea which i think is the adverse reaction to the antibiotic. should i stop the course ?

: Consult your prescribing physician about the headache/diarrhea as both can be from other causes, and not the doxycycline alone.

No: Call your physician right away. This is not a normal expected reaction that i would  accept. Stop taking the medication until further directions from your doctor. If you  can't get a hold your doctor, go to the er.

Possible : Mrsa infections can be tricky to shake sometimes.  Epididymitis usually occurs secondary to infectious cause and some medications.  It is unlikely that Doxycycline is causing your testicular pain.  Do you have noticeable swelling of the skin around your testicles?  Rarely, MRSA may spread to other parts of the body but usually infects the skin.
