Nutrient deficiency: This may be partially genetic but even so optimal nutrition should help. Make sure you are taking a well-absorbed zinc supplement such as zinc picolinate 30 mg/day as well as other trace minerals. Take Vitamin C (1000 mg 2x/day) and eat colorful fruits for flavonoids.
Horsetail root for silica may help. You might also be hypothyroid so see a nutrition-oriented doc to evaluate for that.

Part of healing: A sprain/strain is when a ligament/tendon/muscle is injured by overstretching. There may be minimal or quite a bit of damage to it. Inflammation occurs as a natural healing process. The key is minimize further damage while keeping the area flexible and mobile. Ice massage (24-36 hours), compression and elevation are the keys to maximize healing. Unless malnourished, extra protein is of no benefit.

Muscle Health: Yes. Of course. Also using muscles by moving or exercising; stretching out when strenuously using muscles.... Sleeping well.  So lots of good reasons to health. Now specifically you seem to be having pain much longer than any other man i know with a minor scrotal or cremaster muscle injury. If you have not gotten to the doctor monday is coming and perhaps it is time.

Not likely-Who Knows: Whey is just a byproduct of cheese production, something else to sell by promoting customer illusions. Most evidence is that humans are adapted to perform best eating real food, not processed byproducts with lots of claims supported by no research (none required for food, food supplement products or claims.)  at the same time, internal controls & body use far more likely relevant to bone healing.
