This usually requires a formal visual field test by an ophthalmologist with and without the upper lids taped superiorly away from the pupil. If necessary a skin graft or tightening procedure (canthoplexy) can be performed to correct the overly aggressive surgery. It is important to speak to you surgeon if you are having these issues.

Lower : Lower eyelid blepharoplasty definitely improves the appearance of under eye bags.  Different approaches are used for this operation.  In patients needing treatment of both excessive loose skin and full under eye bags, an incision is made beneath the eye lashes and excessive skin and fat are both removed.  In patients who only need the under eye bags and fullness treated and don't have skin excess, an incision may be made inside the eyelid to reduce the under eye fat and not leave external scars.  Very puffy, fluid filled under eye bags called "festoons" may occur in older patients, and these are much more difficult to treat than typical under eye bags.

Depends!: As with any surgical procedure, there are risks. How extensive a repair matters, as does the skill of the surgeon, your health, &amp; your willingness to follow aftercare instructions. If done by an experienced surgeon, excellent results are possible with minimal scarring which improves over time.  Get a couple of opinions and look at photos of past cases the doc has done. Ask a lot of questions 1st!

In general ther is minimal swelling and no pain. Bruising may occur. Most people can work the next day while wearing pink glasses or excercise in a bout 5 days.
