does anyone know the name of the machine that you rub together and say clear and it brings the heart to start?

Accepted Answer

Defibrillator: The device provides an electric shock to a heart that has stopped and is fibrillating (think quivering).  Saying "clear" is to prevent anyone who might be touching the patient to stay back and not get shocked as well.

if i had irregular heartbeat would it show not just at heart rates below 60? cause my machine says i have irregular heart rate mornings 43-50 bpm

At any rate : Irregular heart rate can happen at low and fast heart rate. Can be because extra or escape beats, irregular sinus rhythm, junctional rhythm, or atrial arrhythmias. Needs an ECG during the actual irregularity happen. Or a holter 24 hrs monitoring test. Auscultation by a physician can make a diagnosis highly suggestive. BP machine are not accurate for irregular rhythms.

i'm cleared by my doc by ekg etc but my heart rate still shows irregular on my blood pressure machine my blood pressure 85/50 or lower & heart rate 48?

If cleared by: Your physician then rest easy...The tests previously performed provide information beyond BP monitors.

i have heart bpm of about 75  average according to my blood pressure machine (is this ok?) but my phone app says in the 90's and once 142!, go to doc?

Don't worry : Nothing is absolute in medicine . U r still young to have serious heart condition . I'll be concerned if u have symptoms like chest pain , dizziness, passing out , fatigue etc go see your dr for an ekg to check for arrythmias . Hope all is well!

occasional heart palps seems correlated w/ big carb-rich meals & maybe anxiety.  ecg machine says normal but im abroad w/ no good docs. advice? worry?

Do not worry: Occasional palpitations can many reasons. Anxiety,  stress and increased caffeine intake are most common. Please hydrate your self and consider over the counter magnesium if possible.

is it normal to have variations between different ultrasound machines? 1 ultrasound tech measured twins at 1 & 2 days ahead then few days later another ultrasound tech at another practice said 1 & 2 days behind. strong heart beats. both say normal?

Sonograms : All sonograms have technical margin of errors. This is part of the technology. The further along in pregnancy the larger the margin of error. A 1-2 day difference is considered normal.

why did ecg say pacemaker rhythm and markedly abnormal. i dont have a pacemaker. was it a wrong machine print out ? or does it mean an abnormal heart rhythm?

: I suspect they reported on the wrong print out. A pacemaker creates a non-varying rhythm and can leave an artifact on the tracing with each beat. A natural rhythm always has some variability.

To help treat angina: Enhanced external counterpulsation (eecp) is a procedure that forces more blood to flow into the coronary arteries (which supply blood to heart muscle). A person uses the eecp machine 1 hour, 5 days a week, for 7 weeks. The treatments are intended to cause long-term improvements in blood flow to the heart muscle, thus decreasing angina (chest pain) symptoms. Only certain patients qualify for eecp.
