Not necessarily: Did you have an infection prior the tooth extraction? Overuse of antibiotics is not recommended. If you don't have an infection, there really is no need for an antibiotic.

Penicillin: Penicillins, such as pen kvm, amoxicillin.Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) are good.
Cephalosporins such as keflex, ceclore  are also good.
For  people allergic to those above, cleomycin is the antibiotic of choice.

Erythromycin: The choice of antibiotic is up to the doctor performing the extraction if indeed an antibiotic is needed. Not all extractions require antibiotic therapy. Erythromycin is the Next Choice in an individual allergic to penicillin but you must discuss this with your doctor.

Sweating: Profuse sweating can be a sign of infection especially if fever or chills are present. Antiinflammatory medications like ibuprofen and medications like tylenol (acetaminophen) can also cause sweating. I recommend that you report the symptoms to the dentist or oral surgeon who performed the extraction.

More info needed...: How long ago was the tooth extracted? You may still be "numb" from the anesthesia. If more than 12 hours, contact the surgeon who extracted the tooth.

Well....: Levaquin (levofloxacin) is not something i commonly prescribe for a dental infection.  It tends to be very expensive and has some difficult side effects.  Unless your dentist/oral surgeon/doctor specifically told you to take this (in which case i'm sure they have a good reason), i would see your dentist/oral surgeon and get a prescription from them.  I have used Levaquin (levofloxacin) before, but in unique circumstances.

It is normal: and very common after tooth extraction. Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure and is not completely risk-free. Pain, swelling, bad breath and infection following surgery is usually at its worst 24 – 48 hours after surgery. After that it should subside more and more every day and after 7 days stop. Follow your surgeons' instructions. Good luck.

Possibly: Most extractions do not have post operative complications. Excessive pain, bleeding, or swelling are indications that you should take the day off. See how you feel in the morning.
