Take it easy: After a simple surgery or prolonged bed rest, d-dimer will be elevated.

Accepted Answer

Likely no: Depends on type of surgery (i.e. Surgery where dizziness would be a direct complication), but i would say that the anesthesia related effects should have disappeared and if you weren't dizzy after surgery initially, it isn't normal.

i had a hysterectomy 7 weeks ago it was robotic removing through the vagina. 3 days after surgery i was dizzy. i have been to er 4 times due to dehydration, but i drink lots of water. its like the water goes right through me & its always clear?

: Even with uncomplicated hysterectomy,  done vaginally with closure of the vaginal junction with the cervix, blood loss can be obscured and anemia can result. See your surgeon who performed the hysterectomy for an exam and additional testing.

It depends: A lot depends on the type of surgery that you had performed, level of blood loss and what type of anesthesia.  Contact your surgeon.

Anesthesia: Typical medications used for anesthesia induce nausea and vomiting. They can also make you feel unsteady.  These are typically much improved vs. Resolved by 24 hours. Beyond then, these symptoms can be related to narcotic pain medications. Your particular situation may or may not be consistent with this. Contact your doctor regarding this if you are unsure.

Not really normal: Most patients don't have lingering effects after something as limited as toe surgery. It would help to know what anesthesia you had and what medications you are taking post-operatively. These can cause some patients to experience headache or disorientation. Your best bet is always to discuss this with your surgeon. They can't help you if they don't know you are having a problem.

Septoplasty: So the answer is everyone is different after surgery. I hope you have sleeping with your head elevated or in a recliner to help reduce some swelling. Taking pain medicine on an empty stomach or just pain medicine in general make give symptoms similar to this. You also need to be drinking and eating normally. That bein said give you a doc a call if anything like this persists.

does pain killer and muscle relaxer medications react to anesthesia after 24 hours of back surgery? i took hydrocodine/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & tizanidine on the second day after surgery then after 1 hour i felt dizzy and fainted twice?

Accepted Answer

: The effect of the anesthesia should be fully gone by 24 hrs.  The post-op meds may have exacerbated a blood pressure drop which caused syncope, and the effect of the two is additive.  Discuss this with your doctor, so that meds can be properly adjusted for your needs.

after surgery, will my 14 year old son be admitted to the hospital if he is dizzy & confused from anesthesia and stays that way for hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Should be admitted and observed and hydrated until he is alert and oriented.
