can diverticulitis cause pain in the thighs and hips?

Perhaps: Not diverticulitis by itself but an abscess could impinge on various nerves that run through the pelvis and there is at least one nerve that could be affected like this. I would seek medical evaluation and consider a ct of the pelvis with oral/iv contrast.

Diverticulitis. : If you have diverticulosis that has been confirmed by colonoscopy and you are now having pain in your right lower abdominal quadrant, then you very well may be having an attack of diverticulitis. Antibiotics may be in order.

friend has diverticulitis. dark bruise appeared at her hip area, rt side.  sign of internal rupture? no blood in vomit. she has nausea & dizziness.

No sign of rupture: If diverticulitis ruptures, it is typically associated with either local or diffuse abdominal pain, worse when you press on the abdomen, but not bruising. Sounds like a trip to her doctors treating the diverticulitis is in order or a more complete evaluation. If not being treated, head to primary care or urgent care. Hope this helps!

5 weeks post op for hip arthroplasty and currently taking aspirin 81mg. also started having a diverticulitis flare. is it bad to be taking the aspirin during a flare? i take it to prevent blood clots but only for another week?

: The aspirin you are taking is a low dose. Are you seeing any blood in your stools? You should call your surgeon and let him/her know about the diverticulitis flare. If you are seeing any blood in your stools, it is possible the aspirin will need to be stopped. If not, you may be able to continue for another week but it is up to your surgeon to make that decision. Good luck!

Unlikely: Without fevers, or chills, i think it is unlikely this is due to diverticulitis.  Other sources could be a kidney stone or a rare type of a hernia.  Other likely causes would be just routine muscle strain.

Explanation: My suggestion that you generalized OA mostly degenerative disease, not the inflammation. And blood work so far remains normal. History of hyper mobility could be reason of early degenerative changes in multiple joins.

Exercise: Most of hip pains are due to osteoarthritis.  Over-weightiness and inactivity make hip-pain worse.  Back-strengthening exercises and losing weight are helpful.  Taking pain-killer should be the last resort.  However, when the pain is severe and/or interferes with the lifestyle, it is wise to consider hip replacement surgery.  If pain persists please consult a physician.
