No: If you are having a toothache you are more likely to get some relief using clove oil. It has anesthetic and analgesic properties and is actually used as an ingredient in some of the products a dentist uses. Tooth aches usually don't get better and if they do they will flare up again at some point so you should get evaluated by a dentist. You can try otc nsaids to help with the pain also.

Treatments..: Other than taking pain meds to alleviate your discomfort for a short while, until you can get to a dentist, there are no diy dentistry tips i can give you... They just don't exist. You can try temporary dental filling material from your pharmacy, but it will be of limited value. The pain will only get worse in a short time, so make the call.

Go to the dentist: There is really no cure for a toothache other than going to the dentist and having it taken care of by either filling it, having a root canal or extracting it.  However to reduce the pain you can use  oil of clove, which has eugenol.

it depends: Toothache can be severe or mild etc ..., the point is you can only get so much pain relief from an over the counter medication such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil and if it is wisdom tooth for example, you may need to try some warm water and salt.
You should try to get to a dentist, you may need antibiotics if the pain is caused by an infection ( abcess) . Unfortunately the pain usually get worse not better.

You should use these sensations as warnings that there is a problem and have it evaluated by a dentist or endodontist.  Some over-the-counter medications (tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or ibuprofen) are able to lessen the pain, but it has a good chance of returning if not addressed.

Get treated: If you have a toothache your baby is in danger.  Many women don't get dental treatment because they fear the unknown of dental medicines and materials.  Infection and your own adrenaline release due to pain are far more dangerous than a dental injection, radiograph, or root canal treatment.  Even most meds prescribed by dentists are safe for baby.  Get seen!

AKA acetaminophen: Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a mild analgesic.  Mostly used as a fever reducer.  It will reduce your pain, but not quite as effective as Ibuprofen (my pain med of choice. 600 mg every 4-6 hour).  For Acetaminophen do not take more than 1, 000 mg per single dose and maximum 4, 000 mg per day for adults.  Over dosing can damage your liver.  Go see your dentist asap.  You may need antibiotics as well.

Could be: Viscous Lidocaine is used to relieve pain and discomfort from a sore throat/mouth. It is also used to numb the lining of the mouth and throat before certain medical/dental procedures (e.g., dental impressions).
