What's a good way to address a toothache while pregnant?

Get treated: If you have a toothache your baby is in danger. Many women don't get dental treatment because they fear the unknown of dental medicines and materials. Infection and your own adrenaline release due to pain are far more dangerous than a dental injection, radiograph, or root canal treatment. Even most meds prescribed by dentists are safe for baby. Get a release : Get a release from your obgyn and get dental care. The more bacteria and sleepless nights the more you are exposing your child to extra stress that is not needed. Be careful of antibiotics like tetracycline, it will permanently discolor the teeth of your child.

See your dentist: See your dentist who will evaluate your situation and along with you and your obstetrician work out something that is both safe and appropriate for whatever dental treatment is necessary. As long as certain basic precautions are followed, most pregnant women can have any necessary dental treatment performed. Sometimes not having dental work done is more harmful to you and your unborn child.
