it depends: Toothache can be severe or mild etc ..., the point is you can only get so much pain relief from an over the counter medication such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil and if it is wisdom tooth for example, you may need to try some warm water and salt. You should try to get to a dentist, you may need antibiotics if the pain is caused by an infection ( abcess) . Unfortunately the pain usually get worse not better.

None, Really: There are no home remedies or cures for rotten teeth. No magic pills or rinses or mouthwashes. Toothaches need to be treated locally by a dentist, someone who has years of experience treating these conditions. The sooner you call the sooner you will feel better. Please don't delay, the pain may soon be unbearable.
