Yes, but: You know the tattoo risks are in viral infections like hepatitis and HIV if the needle is contaminated. If there is no infection, i see no reason a tattoo would affect a person on dialysis different than another who is not on it.

Accepted Answer

Kind of: Just stay clear of your forearms and arms.  You may have fistula/graft surgery at those locations in the future, messing up your artwork.

Reputable parlors use clean needles but the ink is still vulnerable to cross contamination between patrons.  

The ink itself has been known to grow atypical mycobacterium that can then infect your dialysis access.  Be aware.

Depends on patient: In capable patients the peritoneal does not only provide for a better quality of life but also is safer. But in patients who are not likely to follow the rules well due to older age, dementia, poor manual dexterity etc, in-center dialysis is safer.

Avoid decongestants.: Best to check with your nephrologist for specific advice that is tailored to you. Many cold medicines with decongestants can raise blood pressure and most dialysis patients already have high blood pressure. Coricidin HBP contains medicines that will not affect your blood pressure so this may me a safe option.

Weight : Weight loss and new onset of constipation are possibly the result of dietary changes, however excluding problems in your colon is important. If you have undergone a recent colonoscopy then occasional laxative use is ok.

I am not a dialysis expert therefore cannot answer that question to your satisfaction.

Look for a dermatologist with specific experience in tattoo removal using a q switched ndyag orruby laser.

On unaffected areas: Tattoos always have some risks and dangers. In patients with raynaud's phenomenon, there are repeated episodes of inadequate blood flow to the hands and feet, plus some other areas. Any injury to affected areas may take longer to heal, may be at higher risk for infection, and can have a harder time clearing any infection. It seems wise not to tattoo any areas affected by raynaud's phenomenon.
