No: No.  The finding of mild scoliosis (which is probably a curve less than 20 degrees or so) would not be capable of causing shortness of breath.  Studies show it takes a curve in the thoracic spine of 60 degrees to cause subtle pulmonary function changes and usually 90 degrees to start causing clinical shortness if breath.  Thank you.

Mild scoliosis curve: In the thoracic spine diagnosed as idiopathic usually do not progress after skeletal maturity or when growth ceases.  Staying in shape with exercise offers health benefits and minimizes chance of lower back problems while taking calcium and vitamin d helps to minimize risk of bone density loss as you age.  As scoliosis has a genetic component, if you have children, make sure their doctor checks.

Consult PT first: A consultation with a physical therapist is the best way to learn exercises. After evaluation, the pt and you plan a program. Besides handouts, the pt will watch you perform exercises to be sure you do them correctly. "treat your own back" by robin mackenzie is a very good resource, however, go to a certified mackenzie physical therapist and clinic before starting to be safe.

Nothing: At 22, you should be skeletally mature.  Bracing will not change the curve.  At this point you need monitoring.  If your curve is less than 40 degrees,  it is less likely to progress.  But,  if it is more,  you probably still need intermittent followup.  If you start accelerating your curve,  cardiac and pulmonay issues,  get evaluated for possible surgical management.

Usually unrelated: Scoliosis, usually mild is extremely common in females, usually developing by the teens. In the vast majority of cases, the scoliosis is not symptomatic. Iif you have lower back pain, it is almost certainly unrelated. For an personalized exercise program get it from a physical therapist.
