Depression sx’s can: Include feeling sad, irritable or angry; v in sex drive &amp; energy or motivation levels. One may socially isolate or stop involvement in normal activities. Sleep, appetite &amp; weight may ^ or v. Concentration, memory &amp; self esteem may v with an absence of joy, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness. There may be crying spells or thoughts of death or suicide.

every time i converse and write, i have a hard time finding the right words or i would just repeat a word. is there anything i can do to work on this? is this happening because of my anxiety or depression or is it that im not educated enough?

: Anxiety can manifest in many ways, including difficulty finding words and /or processing thoughts.  Not having enough education can make one feel incompetent and unsure about the words they use to express themselves. At 22 years one can always get more education to acquire the self confidence they need. Assistance by the PCP or Psychologist to work out the root cause of problem is encouraged.

Symptoms : Symptoms of depression can include feeling angry, anxious, sad or scared.  You may sleep too much or too little. Similarly you could gorge on food or eat too little.  Feeling helpless, hopeless, inadequate and guilty is common. Problems with memory and concentration can occur.  Feelings or thoughts that you want to hurt or kill yourself or others is a medical emergency and requires help asap.  I suggest that whether you take medication or not, that you become involved in talking therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be very beneficial. Take care.

Memory probs: Memory problems can often be caused by mood problems or stress.  These affect people at all ages, but people who are young are especially affected by these.

Other than these, medicine side effects are commonly a cause of memory problems in young people.

Using the computer too much is not known to be a cause of memory problems.

Can you talk with someone else in the family about this?  Do you live with this person, or just see them occasionally?  If this issue is impacting the quality of your life, you might benefit from talking with a psychologist who treats families, using CBT psychotherapy.

Yes: At your age it is not uncommon to have some word finding difficulties.  the issue is the degree to which this happens.  Yes this can be precipitated by depression and/or stress.  Seek an evaluation by a mental health specialist or neurologist to determine how serious this problem may be.

: Yes, emotional dysfunction can cause secondary cognitive issues, especially if your sleep pattern is poor secondary to this.  Contact a therapist, and deal with some of this via cognitive-behavioural approaches.  A psychiatrist may well be useful.  Some blood tests should be reassuring.  Highly unlikely you suffer a true neurological dementia at your age.

is there a condition (for lack of a better word) that could cause rapid onset of severe depression following oral ingestion of low-dose opioids? within ~5 minutes of taking my med, i am struck with an overwhelming increase to my depression?

: Opiates like oxycodone IR can cause CNS depression, drowsiness, and dizziness. Although not all patients taking it may experience same degree of side effects, it may be dependent on dose, how long one has been taking it, and whether other drugs taken can interact with it and enhance its side effects. Best to notify prescribing provider and cease driving and other risky activity
