Is there a condition (for lack of a better word) that could cause rapid onset of severe depression following oral ingestion of low-dose opioids? within ~5 minutes of taking my med, i am struck with an overwhelming increase to my depression?

Opiates like oxycodone IR can cause CNS depression, drowsiness, and dizziness. Although not all patients taking it may experience same degree of side effects, it may be dependent on dose, how long one has been taking it, and whether other drugs taken can interact with it and enhance its side effects. Best to notify prescribing provider and cease driving and other risky activity
