All surgical   : Any surgical procedure in any setting has a chance of minor postoperative less than 5 percent compilations you tend to have it reduced by getting it done in OR. You shall be fine.

See a dentist or ENT: The firm nodule under your ear is the big concern. It could be an affected lymph node or parotid gland. The bad taste and lack of saliva would suggest the latter. The question is why is it firm? Infection, cancer, blockage? Go see a dentist or ENT physician asap and get it checked out. The longer you wait, the worse it will get. And have your throat checked at the same time.

Teratoma: Also known as a dermoid cyst. These contain mature skin cells and often have skin, hair, nails, sweat glands... In them. Most are benign and are removed as a precaution.

Bruise = bleeding: The bruise is from the breakdown of blood products when you bled from cutting the area with your teeth.  If you were diagnosed with a cyst, and the cyst itself did not rupture you will still need a follow-up and removal of the cyst if it was previously recommended.

The point of seeing your dentist is not to argue with the dentist but to do what is advised for your own welfare.  Sorry this happened to you.  It could have been even worse.

Infection: Cannot diagnose case from description alone. However "pain, swelling, sores,glands, white patches, bleeding, cyst-like" all indicate infection. Immediately contact your General Dentist for an examination&gt;diagnosis&gt;treatment plan or referral. If your braces are involved, speak to your specialist Orthodontist. If you don't have one, fin$ one.
