Why: Take only if you need to for the control of an infection or as determined by the american heart association.  If you do not need them - then do not take them.

Ask your dentist: Depends on how bad infection did you have..Sometimes no antibiotics needed if simple extraction and sometimes may even need for 10 days...Or may eve. Have to change antibiotics if didnt work...Your dentist can give the best answer..

No: If stents were all you had. Your dentist needs to confirm with your cardiologist what was done. Fewer heart problems are recommended for antibiotic coverage for dental procedures anymore. The antibiotics caused more problems than helped. The reason for preventive antibiotics was theoretical and not well established as being effective.

Dental visit: Antibiotics control the infection around an abscessed tooth, but not the infection within the tooth. The dead or deteriorating nerve material needs to be removed from the tooth for the antibiotic to be totally effective.

Dental help: The best therapy is that of proper dental therapy to address the source of the infection--not medication. In absence of immediate dental therapy or to assist in control of the infection, your dentist must choose an antibiotic appropriate to the site and most likely bacterial source. Obviously, you must seek counsel from your dentist first--asap when there is cellulitis.

: In the actual hygiene visit there are no antibiotics used. If you are being treated for periodontal disease, then antibiotics can be used as part of the treatment.

Impossible to say: Antibiotics  (abx) have varying effectiveness based upon bacterial spectrum, host ( your child) resistance /immune system, area being treated. Usually abx are given to "symptomatic " relief. Increased pain, swelling, fever, redness would be signs that the abx is not working.

Some: I think hygiene, brushing, flossing and rinses are very important also.
