deep finger cut treatment? i cut my finger deeply yesterday while cutting hair with shears. i was advised by my educator to use super glue but all i own is wood glue and i have no time or money to go see a doctor... what are your recommendations?

Ideally, : Ideally, a cut should be washed out and, if deep, sutured within 12 hrs of the injury.  Don't glue it if you're past that, because you could be sealing infection in. Super glue or dermabond do a terrible job of keeping finger wounds closed, anyway.

The wound should be washed twice a day, have neosporin ointment applied to it, and bandaged at this point.  If you have numbness out past the wound or the finger doesn't move properly, you need to see a hand surgeon for an evaluation, not a medical or er doctor, who will just send you to a hand specialist anyhow.

It sounds like you work with your hands for a living, so you had better make the effort to take care of them as best as possible, and that includes this wound.

Can be hard to treat: Some people are prone to keloids, probably genetically determined. The problem is that if a doctor cuts out one keloid, another usually forms. Steroids are usually tried, such as an injection of kenalog (triamcinolone) into a keloid. Sometimes, steroids are injected into the site when a surgeon removes an existing keloid. Dermatologists and plastic surgeons with experience in keloids are the specialists to see.

dentist accidental cut under tongue during treatment. formed puss bubble. i popped it with needle. came back after few days. what is it?

Bubble: Im sorry that happened, it does happen sometimes though we try to avoid it.   Are you sure it was pus?.  Sometimes it can be the the duct of minor salivary gland that got transected/cut, and  in that case, you need the minor gland removed.  1) don't pop anything in your mouth with a needle. may create a worse problem 2) go to your dentist when its swollen and show them...

Not sure: There is an entity called bechet's disease that is associated with something called pathergy.  If you stick a needle in the skin, you get a bump. could also just be prominent scar formation called keloids.

Keep it clean: If you can see yellow fat tissue, or the bleeding won't stop,  you probably need stitches. If there is no fat exposed you probably can treat the cut by washing it with soap and water then drying it and applying bacitracin.

See your doctor: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person.  He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Cover it: Most superficial left cuts can be treated with a thorough rinse with clean water , a mild soap, and an sterile bandage cover.  Deeper cots may require cleaning with peroxide, then clean water, a mild anticeptic, and sterile bandage. For any  cut wher fat or muscle tissue is exposed; seek medical attention if possible as a tetanus injection may be advisable.

Proper care by doc.: A hand laceration is very tricky because all layers of skin, tendons, ligaments, nerves, muscles are all very close to surface; the skin is rather tight and any swelling can lead to destruction of one of the above parts. Furthermore it is the most important part of all the extremities for most functions. If very superficial, clean, dry, cover. If any more, er for proper care, prevent/rx infection.

: If it has not  been treated for several years chances are it’s already healed up and re-epithelialize so it probably will not change much at this point

Accepted Answer

It can be treated: There are several treatment options for behcet's disease. It depends on the areas involved and the severity of that involvement as to what therapy is initially indicated. For more significant disease, tnf agents (enbrel, remicade, (infliximab) etc) often have good benefit. Talk to a rheumatologist.
