: At this stage there is no clinical reason why you should not persist with this habit. I suggest beng judicious and not apeearing for treatment while under the influence of the drug.

Complex: The root canal treatment is probably now recontaminated and usually will need to be 'retreated'. However, if this loosening has occurred, then it may be that there is not enough solid tooth to support the crown and biting forces. Might not be a good idea to fix this, but rather extract it and have an implant placed with a crown after 3 - 4 months. See prosthodontist for options. Good luck.

Crowns are placed to protect a tooth from failure, such as breaking, or to replace parts of a missing tooth. A crown is permanently cemented to the tooth. If the crown falls off it can easily be recemented by a dentist.

Pulp issue: By the time a crown is needed, a tooth has sustained a lot of damage...Either from, cavities/fillings, broken/chipped, grinding/clenching, to name a few. Rct is typically done before crowning these types of damaged teeth to prevent an abcess forming after the crown is placed. If a rct has been done already, then crowning is recommended to strengthen the tooth/enamel structure.

Likely  uneventful: If you have pain and infection when a root canal is initiated you are more likely to run into problems. If you are getting a root canal because of a nerve exposure while decay was being removed, very few have any real pain issues. Most of the time it is biting pain for a few days any loner, check with your dentist. Most people are able to control any discomfort with anti-inflammatories.

Usually: It's best to have the tooth properly restored as soon as possible after Root Canal Therapy is completed. However, sometimes I wait to be sure the RCT is successful before restoring the tooth. Your own dentist can discuss these issues with you.

ZERO: You will be given a local anesthetic to completely numb the tooth and you should not feel anything.

15 years or more: Crowns have an average life span of 15 years provided you continue to brush and floss around this tooth. However, if the root  or tooth fractures, then the tooth would need to be extracted. This crown could also remain in your mouth for the rest of your life.  There are a lot of variables in play here.  Discuss this question with your dentist.
