Craze  lines: Most of the time I do not treat craze lines as they are superficial and do not pose a problem. Location of lines and occlusion (bite) helps determine need for treatment. For aesthetic reasons or if a fracture is possible, i might use composite bonding, a porcelain laminate or a ceramic crown to restore the tooth.

Usage: Daily usage when you bite into food (like a sandwich, or if you eat ribs, or peaches/nectarines and "hit" the pit) or traumatic injury (accident or fall) can cause this. Any harmful habits like biting your nails, chewing on pens or pencils?  Plus, when you are sleeping, you may bring your lower jaw  far enough forward to cause the teeth to contact.   See you dentist for their recommendation.

Possibly: Many causes for craze lines. Bruxism, restorations, altered occlusion, etc. As long as your bite is correct, and the craze lines are superficial, don't fret. However if they become deeper cracks, and if you begin to have a sharp pain when biting, or if you develop thermal sensitivity, then you need to see your dentist or endodontist.

Unusual: This is an unusual complication.  Usually craze lines caused by trauma, such as chewing ice, hard candy, clenching or grinding, sports injuries, etc.  Craze lines often present before braces placed, and sometimes stain during treatment.  Talk to your general dentist about bleaching, re calcification, veneers, and other modalities.

See your dentist: If you want an accurate answer to your question, you will have to see a dentist.  Since we can't actually examine you, nor see exactly what you are referring to, we can't be expected to properly answer your question. Since you don't wear the retainer all the time, the problem might arise when you aren't using it. Rather than knowing if it could be problematic, see a dentist to find out for sure.

Check up: The splint should have some retention but no undo pressure on your teeth.  Have the dentist who made it, check the fit.

Must clean: If you don't clean fractured teeth you will have infected teeth and/or gums plus fractured teeth.  Keep teeth clean and have your Dentist evaluate the craze lines to see if treatment is indicated.
