Definitely: Clonazepam is a long-acting medication, and causes significant sedation and cognitive slowing.  Depending on what it is being used for, there may be alternative treatments that would not carry these side effects.

can i take .25mg clonazepam for a hangover? i had four glasses of wine last night, last one around 8:30pm and its now 10am. im just so anxious because i rarely drink that much?

: I tell my patient it is good to get a hangover to remind you why you don't drink too much too often. Your body is talking, nay shouting, to you. Don't do this or you will see what happens.

150 mg trazodone, 1 mg klonopin. and 10 mg ambien (zolpidem). ambien (zolpidem) doesn't work for me by itself been on klonopin for years. trazodone was great in the past. any thoughts.? sounds like a major hangover to me.

Medication effects: Trazodone and Klonopin may cause insomnia.
Klonopin may cause Depression, emotional lability, confusion.
Ambien (zolpidem) may cause drugged feeling, confusion.
Using Trazodone with Ambien (zolpidem) and Klonopin may increase dizziness, difficulty concentrating, some impairment in thinking and judgment.

is there any reason a urine tox (taken @ 12pm today)could show negative for benzodiazepines after having taken a .5mg klonopin (clonazepam) @ approx 3pm yesterday?

Many reasons: Depends on several factors - what test are they using? Tests for benzodiazepines usually detect oxazepam, which is a primary metabolite of most of them (the ones where it isn't - xanax (alprazolam) and klonopin).  There are test kits that will reliably detect Klonopin and xanax (alprazolam), but these are not always used. In addition, if you drink a lot of water, you may dilute your urine down to a negative level.

is there any reason to think that the daily use of clonazepam would cause any permanent changes in cognition, memory, or the brain ? would the same apply if this use was for less than a year?

Wouldn't think so: Such an issue would likely have led to removal from the market decades ago (first approved in 1975). There is always a possibility you had a personal idiosyncratic reaction (rare).However, I would wonder if this is more related to whatever led them to use the drug on you to begin with.

my psychiatrist prescribed zoloft (sertraline) 50mg and clonazepam 1mg at day  and clonazepam 2mg at bedtime. is the reason of this is to ease zoloft (sertraline) side effects?

Probably not: This is about twice the amount of Klonopin that most people would start with, unless you had been on them previously and had some tolerance, or your level of anxiety was extremely high. The person to ask is the prescribing doctor. Zoloft (sertraline) takes weeks to work for both anxiety and depression, and Klonopin works right away, but produces physical dependency and will require tapering to get off.

hello, so ive been taking clonazepam 1 mg 3 times a day for panic disorder and gad till new meds start working, i wanna taper off and prescribing doctor left the taper up to me for some reason so came here for some good tapers to avoid the bad stuff?

: It is totally unacceptable that your prescribing physician will not supervise your taper off such a significant dose of a longacting tranquilizer. We don't know enough about your past or current condition or status and whether you're ready for a slow or very slow taper or what symptoms to expect,if any. Please contact your MD and get proper care.

does ativan decrease serotonin and tsh like klonopin does? i know hallucinations are listed as side effect for ativan (dopamine?) reason why i ask is because i have hyper-thyroid like symptoms that klonopin was helping with but switched to ativan?

: Neither ativan nor klonopin impact serotonin or TSH. Rather they work at the GABA receptor in the brain to reduce anxiety, muscle tension, and induce sedation. The "Hyperthyroid symptoms" that you mention may or may not be your thyroid. Getting bloodwork (TSH, Free T4) is needed to identify any thyroid disorder.

hi, i am an anxiety patient suffering for the last 25 years with all type of symptoms but thank god iam taking zoloft daily and from time-to-time clonazepam if necessary. but lately i am getting some feeling of numbness or tingling face and left hand?

: Could be an interaction between drugs, but more likely if you are on any other medication.  Let your prescriber know of this reaction  since you never had any previous reactions. Don't changes dosages of medications until instructed to.
