If the cough: Is caused by pneumonia, yes it would cancel the colonoscopy. If in doubt call your doctor before stating the prep to be sure he wants to go ahead or reschedule your procedure.

: I don't recommend it because of presence of reddish discoloration in the syrup.

Coincidence: A cough would not develop as a complication of having an endoscopic procedure a few days before.Even if you were to have the unusual and serious complication of esophagus perforation the typical symptoms that would result include pain, vomiting, breathlessness, fever, chills.However, persistent coughing is at a minimum annoying but may be significant. Be evaluated at Urgent Care/see your Doc

Yes: Bad cough and phlegm are not contraindications to colonoscopy, but you might have some difficulty getting upper endoscopy.

i have a colonoscopy tomorrow, ive been fighting off a cold all week and now i have a very hoarse voice and a cough but i have no congestion. will i be ok to still get procedure?

Can check with Dr.: A patient with coughing can call his gastroenterologist who will be doing the colonoscopy to see if the procedure needs to be postponed. The decision probably depends on the doctor, the patient's situation that is requiring a colonoscopy, and the amount of coughing.

What kind of lesion?: You need to ask the doctor who did the endoscopy to find out if what was the lesion (if I understood your question correctly)  found on your stomach or esophagus.  If you have vomiting along with the coughing, consider whooping cough as a potential cause. These issues need be clarified before we can assist you.

Depends...: If your respiratory status is at its normal baseline, then it may be ok to proceed with the procedure. However, if the cough is acute and/or different than your baseline, then it would be in your best interest to wait until the cough resolves, especially if the procedure is under general anesthesia. See your doctor pre-procedure to be certain.

See below: That would be up to the GI doctor. She will need sedation, and some providers will not do sedation when the patient has a cough.

Not right: Something is not right. The simplest explanation is that you are getting food in your lung, you need evaluation for that by a speech pathologist. Certainly, that is not the only possible reason.

Wait until resolved: Unless there is an urgency to do these tests, the patient should wait until resolution of the upper respiratory infection before having the upper endoscopy and colonoscopy completed.  Even with sedation, there is diminished reflexes such that increased secretions may pose a slight increased risk.
