See below: That would be up to the GI doctor. She will need sedation, and some providers will not do sedation when the patient has a cough.

Call Specialist: It is always best to call the specialist performing the colonoscopy to ask this question. I would proceed with the procedure if it were my decision, but i can't speak for the particular operator of the colonoscopy or for the physician giving the anesthesia. They might want to wait...
