hi i was told i had about 2.5 -3cm collapsed ovarian cyst which is very painful  , what do i need to watch out for? and   will it heal on its own?

Healing in progress: If you can stand the discomfort of the collapsed ovarian cyst, then with the egress of the fluid contained therein, healing has already begun. The fluid on the lining of the body cavity(peritoneum) may be the source of your pain so if needed talk to your MD about Rx suggestions.

Choice of words: The descending colon is basically a bag/tube where feces is stored. When you poop it empties &amp; the walls fold in on themselves until more poop moves in. The ovaries occasionally form hemorrhagic cysts. It is not particularly notable or in need of any treatment. Without more information about why a study was done, little can be said.

u/s says 5.6cm ovarian cyst resolved, but it still hurts all the time. what could be going on? i'm still having all the same symptoms.

Cystic fluid: If the ovarian cyst resolved by rupturing with fluid accumulation on the lining of the internal body cavity (peritoneum), then that's why you are still symptomatic. Eventually this will resolve if that is the case.

is a 6 cm simple ovarian cyst something to worry about? 25. my said its benign filled with fluid. she said it will go away on its own. it causes me pain though. should i get a second opinion? i read online this is too big for a simple cyst?

: If your (GYN) physician has seen the imaging study and the cyst is a simple one (without complex echogenic structure within) the 6 cm cyst will eventually resolve spontaneously, and may take a followup imaging study if the pain persists. With a less than 10 cm cyst with no internal echo structure, a biopsy is not yet indicated.

8 week followup u/s for simple left ovarian cyst which remains same. right side (no cyst) now measures 19 cc up from 12cc last time. concerning?

No: Simple ovarian cysts are usually benign (not cancer) in a woman in her early 30s.    If they become large or painful, they can be removed with laparoscopic surgery but frequently go away on their own.

Yes it can: Complex cysts can be cancerous depending on their size and rate of growth. A CA125 test can help decide its nature. Ultrasound is a good test to measure increase in size and also may show any solid components inside the cyst. Ovarian cysts: When there is pain due to ovarian cyst it is advisable to take pain medication for short term and generally patients do well once it ruptures. Although for some patients it is a very painful process. In those situations, OCPs can be helpful to stop ovulation. Take care.

Common: A  functional ovarian cyst is a simple cyst that is normal development  from ovulation. In most cases it resolves on it's on and doesn't create any problems.
