i love to workout. i just had a right lung collapse. when and how to start back working out?

Pneumothorax?: If you had a pneumothorax and required a chest tube with or without surgery it may take a month before you can get back to routine.  But you should be able to walk as much as you like.  If you had a collapse from pneumonia and no surgery it may take two plus weeks until you can return to routine.  You common sense for exercise and return to work after any illness.

Collapsed lung: If you had a collapsed lung because of a ruptured bleb it may be that you are developing another bleb. Therefore, it is important for you to return to your doctor to find out what the problem is

When...: When you have no breathing difficulty and your doctor says it is ok.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Although it was 20 years ago, it is possible to have areas of lung that are not fully aerated on a chronic type basis. Often called atelectasis. This could be what is described by "groundglass density"  The best way to tell is with direct comparison of the old CT scan to a new one.  It is also possible that this area represents a more recent area of pneumonia.   See if a comparison can be done.

what is more urgent to repair: a severely leaking tricuspid valve (in a congestive heart) or a decortification of a right lung partially collapsed?

Depends: That really depends on the variables - impossible to make a global statement. It would be really nice if some talented surgeon could do both at the same operation. Never have seen it, but it's worth investigating. Don't be put off if the first surgeon you ask says, no.  It would be an unusual request.

Partial lung collaps: R u a smoker or second-hand smoker?18 y/o pretty young for emphysema (air sacs's wall break down forming larger sac; if on edge of lung, lobe can collapse). Decreased space usually filled with other lung's expanding which can shift central chest structures. May need review of radiograph for other problems, even ct/mri. Htn unlikely cause. R u under care of pulmonologist?

Infection: It is possible sign of infection of the lung, and one of the possibility is tuberculosis which is a concern based on the country you're from (the Philippines)

: Translation= there may or may not be something worrisome at that location. The study is not clear if it is or not, but it is worth reviewing with the patient history or doing more studies.

i can feel a little vibration in the middle of my right lung?

Accepted Answer

: If you are feeling it inside when you breathe, it could be wheezing. Do you feel it through your chest wall by putting your hand over the area? This could be due to wheezing or even secretions. Are you short of breath at all? You need to be seen by a doctor for diagnosis/treatment. You need to be seen urgently if short of breath. Good luck to you!
