Eustachian tube: Most people have a clicking sound in the ears when we swallow. This is the eustachian tube opening. Normal. If you need reassurance or other symptoms develop, see an ENT doc.

hi i seem to have a problem with my throat when i move my adams apple down it makes a clicking sound. and when swallowing saliva it also makes the clicking sound?

: Larynx or voice box is part of the respiratory system made of cartilages in the neck. The Adams apple is formed at the converging of the laryngeal cartilages along the midline. Mild weakness of the cartilage/ mild problems in the articulation of cartilages could have caused the noise. As long as breathing, speaking and  eating  are  not affected no major issues. Consult ENT doctor for laryngoscopy

Tried acid blockers?: Most esophagitis will likely reflect injury from reflux of stomach contents (gerd) and should typically respond to acid blocker medicines.  If you've tried this route and you derived no relief after 2-3 weeks of acid suppression treatment (gurgling/ clicking as described), then seek medical evaluation since esophagitis may be more severe than anticipated, or due to a variety of non-reflux causes.

Talk to his MD: He could have sleep apnea , will need sleep studies to monitor and detect the problem . Ask you family doctor for referral  to sleep study centre .

Normal functions: When you swallow, you often hear a click in your ears because the eustachian tube opens and allows air from your upper throat into the middle ear to equalize pressure. Often, there is some clicking of the larynx or voice box as it rises in your throat with a swallow. It is all normal mechanics of swallowing and most of the time people don't notice it unless they focus on it.

for about the past 5 months i keep feeling a clicking sensation in my throat when i swallow food, drink and saliva. also, accompanying this, when i swallow saliva i can feel it trickling down to my chest. any ideas? im a vocalist

VC polyp?: Those who sing regularly can get vocal cord polyps, which could very well explain your symptom.  An ENT exam and direct laryngoscopy are in order as a starting point.

Dipping: Dipping causes cancer, and you can' tweet everywhere.  Your problems may be related or unrelated.  You need to see both a Dentist and a Physician examine your mouth, teeth, throat, jaw joint, gums, etc.
