No: Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory. It has no antibiotic properties. The normal adult dose is 400 mg every 6 hrs as necessary. 8 mg would not exert any effect. Maybe you are thinking of another medicine?

Very Very Unlikely: Risk on a whole with receiving oral sex is very low.And in the scenario you described it is even less.Saliva does not have HIV Virus.Only way it can be transmitted is if there is bleeding from gums or another part of oral cavity.Even that risk is very very little.Having said that you can never be 100% sure.

Doubtful: Got your last reply-Thanks.  As stated, would be very unlikely it&#x27;s lung cancer, but if you are indeed spitting blood,it&#x27;s most likely from the gum issue.  It would not be unreasonable to get a C-Xray with your smoking history, more to calm your anxiety.  But as stated, best thing you ever did was STOP smoking!

Not cancer: I'm really glad you quit smoking. Ask your personal physician about a referral to an otolaryngologist and a dentist who's gum-savvy.  I'm going to trust your routine labs, including platelets, are within normal limits.  Cancer almost never results from just 8 years of smoking at your age.

This is a question you should ask your dentist. Or, seek a second opinion from another dentist or an oral surgeon.

Exam needed: This expanding lump warrants an examination as soon as possible as it could be an abscess, infected salivary or inflamed/infected lymph gland or even a hematoma from bleeding.. Go to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation and treatment. Cataflam and voltaren are the same molecule or medication.

I : I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment to see a dentist. It is possible that the nerve in that tooth has gone bad and that the little blister that is forming is actually a draining abscess.

You may have hit that tooth hard years ago, or you may have had a big filling placed a while back. This requres an in person exam with a radiograph and cannot accurately be diagnosed over the internet, sight unseen.

Since it keeps recurring in the same spot it is more likely associated with the tooth than an std or your smoking.
