Prescribed cataflam & voltaren for inflamed gums. expected clear up 4 days. after 2, painful expanding lump on lower jaw. drs on leave. can it wait?

Exam needed: This expanding lump warrants an examination as soon as possible as it could be an abscess, infected salivary or inflamed/infected lymph gland or even a hematoma from bleeding.. Go to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation and treatment. Cataflam and voltaren are the same molecule or medication.

Swelling: No, this can't wait. Gum swelling usually signifies infection. Expanding lump on lower jaw usually signifies infection. Voltaren & Cataflam are brand names for the same anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac, which may reduce inflammation but not cure infection. Please see Dentist immediately. Time is not your friend, and using the same medication under the different brand names does not help. Go now!
