I : I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment to see a dentist. It is possible that the nerve in that tooth has gone bad and that the little blister that is forming is actually a draining abscess. You may have hit that tooth hard years ago, or you may have had a big filling placed a while back. This requres an in person exam with a radiograph and cannot accurately be diagnosed over the internet, sight unseen. Since it keeps recurring in the same spot it is more likely associated with the tooth than an std or your smoking.

Thanks : Thanks for the detailed information. It appears that you make an attempt to keep your mouth healthy. There are several things that can cause a recurrent swelling but in this case the most likely reason is that the nerve in the tooth associated with the swelling has died and you are experiencing recurring infections. Once the swelling gets large enough it may open up discharging the abscess allowing it to deflate and the gum tissue to appear to heal. To resolve this problem see your dentist as soon as possible so that he can confirm this with an exam and xrays. The treatment for this problem is a root canal. I doubt that this is an std or a cancer as you seem to be concerned about, but without an exam it is impossible to rule out these possibilities.

I : I believe that the bump you describe is most likely a recurring dental abscess, casued by a chronically infected front tooth. If this is the case, the tooth will require a root canal to prevent the bump from recurring. I suggest you see you dentist soon to evaluate the situation.
