Innocent dosages: These along with a huge list of products have a history of being touted as having health benefits.  There is ;probably no harm in what you describe but no  evidence to support health benefits from these.

I did find one study: " In the test tube study, cinnamon proved nearly twice as effective against Streptococcus mutans, a bacterium that leads to dental plaque formation, as clove oil, which has been used widely as an oral antiseptic and pain reliever."  However, many people may develop aphthous ulcers or other irritations from using it.

It depends: I doubt you'll find scientific evidence as to the health benefits.   That doesn't mean it is hype.   A lack of evidence doesn't exclude the possibility of significant benefit.   I find it  best to have supplements tailored to the individual.   In the U.S. naturopaths are often the best bet.  If you have access to a good herbalist &amp;  I have a bias toward Chinese Medicine.  (Cinnamon commonly used)

If the oral swab test is looking for cigarette smoking, it measures either nicotine or its major metabolite cotinine (more commonly) and this will be found also in someone using nicotine gum. If they are looking for drugs of abuse, generally nicotine/cotinine are not tested for and will not alter the outcome.
