could acid reflux disease causes throat cancer?

Not likely: Acid reflux is not like to cause 'throat' cancer - which i would define as oropharynx.   However, persistent acid reflux is clearly associated with a condition called barret's esophagus and the potential for development of esogphagela cancer (though i would consider that 'throat.'   if you ahve a history of acid refulx, talk wtih your pcp about the need to see a GI doc.

what could be the cause of chronic(1 year) persistent minimal sputum in the throat that couldn't be coughed out in a 25 year old ? this sputum is only cleared by forceful cough followed by swallowing. no risk factors -smoking, alcohol, drug, disease?

: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD, can cause this sensation as well as cough. Have the person seen by a doctor because this can be treated by medication. Staying upright for at least 30 minutes after eating is also helpful. A doctor can explore other causes of these symptoms as well so see a doctor ASAP! Good luck!

could gerd cause a tightening sensation in the back of your throat followed by brief racing heart? i have gerd & anxiety disorder. thanks

GERD: although GERD can cause a tightening in the throat, when combined with the sensation of a racing pulse I believe it  is more likely that your symptoms are due to the anxiety disorder. To sort this out, go to your doctor and get on good therapy for GERD. If the symptoms persist, that gives you your answer. Good luck.

See an ENT ASAP: While it could be minor vitamin B12 deficiency, it could also be a much more serious condition, you need to see a md or ENT asap.

can dental problems be the cause of thyroid gland disorders - either hypo or hyperthyroidism? is a symptom a click in the throat when you swallow?

No: Usually dental problems don't cause thyroid issues. In some cases, the thyroid gland can get large enough to have some mass effect on the esophagus but not a click per se. See a doctor soon for further evaluation.

Eating disorders, : anorexia &amp; bulimia, are rare in 4-year-old boys. If his height, weight &amp; head circumference are not following their %iles on growth curves or he has pediatric undernutrition, weight-for-length &lt; 5th % ile, he needs an evaluation for a medical cause. If okay, see healthychildren.org for healthy diet at 4 years. Fever can increase heart rate. Fever + sore throat require a throat culture for "strep"

Wilson's Disease: Wilson's disease or hepatolenticular degeneration is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder in which copper accumulates in tissues; this manifests as neurological or psychiatric symptoms and liver disease. It is treated with medication that reduces copper absorption or removes  excess copper. It may affect the eyes, liver, heart and parathyroids. Not aware of Vit D associated or stiff neck.

Not Hodgkins: Well known that alcohol and smoking are highly associated with oral and throat cancer.  The alcohol in many cases acts as a severe irritant of oral/pharyngeal mucosa.  The throat enters the cervical esophagus when both lateral sides of the oropharynx, the piriform sinuses fuse to form midline esohphagus.  Alcohol running down the lateral pharynx across an area of inflammed mucosa can cause pain
